We live in Ust-Kamenogorsk that is celebrated with deals of metallurgists, sung in many works of historians, writers and artists. But do you know the great history of your land and people praise it? Local history - what could be more interesting and exciting...?
The Department of local history information of CSI «Centralized library system» of Ust-Kamenogorsk akimat was organized in 2010. The basis of the Fund of the Department of local history are the books about Ust-Kamenogorsk transferred from other libraries-branches, and also presented by the readers, and enthusiasts of local history.
The Department of local history information collects, stores and provides you with information about our region, since "antiquity" to the present day.
The pride of our library – a script of M. Chistyakov, "Irtyshians", the first edition of the poem by Mikhail Chistyakov, "Yakov Ushanov," a book of the first founders of the literary Association "Zveno Altaya" Konstantin Altaisky (Ivanusjev) dated 1921.
